Luxury Experience Design

The second chapter of the curriculum. How a luxury experience is designed: arrival, threshold, and afterglow.

Certificate of completion for the assessment examination on Fundamentals of Luxury Experience Design

Luxury is not the price of the object. It is the quality of attention the object commands, and attention can be designed.

Every luxury experience performs three movements: arrival, threshold, and afterglow. The stage may be a hotel lobby, a showroom, or a single page; the movements do not change. Arrival is decided before a guest is greeted. The threshold is the one moment they are asked to commit, and it is almost always built too loud. The afterglow is the part the house cannot control, and the part that gets repeated.

The course closes with a sealed, open-book examination: sixty questions across twelve sections, marked across instinct and craft. It confers the house’s own ranks, Maison Standard, the Curator, the Connoisseur, the Apprentice.

The rest is taught in the room.
